Nielsen appointed to Washington Beef Commission
CPoW District 4 Director Scott Nielsen was recently approved by Washington Director of Agriculture Bud Hover to servea three-year term (2013-2016) on the Washington Beef Commission. Nielsen, a rancher from Stevens County, will replace former appointee Jim Hinton in the Position 6 spot on the Commission. Nielsen will participate in decisions about how beef Checkoff dollars are spent and can likely come back to CPoW meetings and let us know how the $1.1 million in commission expenditures last year helped increase profitability for the cow-calf producer. CPoW appreciates Scott’s willingness to represent the organization on the Commission and looks forward to his reports.
